A Note From The President

Have you read our Summer Newsletter yet? If not, you can check it out here! Every quarter, we upload a newsletter to the website to bring our members the latest in financial industry news and updates specific to our credit union and community. In today’s blog, we are sharing a snippet of the newsletter to update you on what Coloramo has been up to around the community so far this summer. Here is a brief but important message from our President/ CEO, Anthony Restivo:

“Our commitment to deliver a convenient experience and meet the needs of our members remains unwavering. We asked the Coloramo membership where you would most like to see a new full service location and the overwhelming response was a location near the Mesa Mall. I am proud to share, on May 15th we broke ground on a new building location on 24 Road. It was a great moment in our history and I am thankful for the community participation at the event. You can find more details on this exciting step forward on page 2 of the Summer Newsletter. We are eager to deliver a new location for our members and continue our pursuit to deliver you a convenient experience.

The work we do here at Coloramo starts with meeting the needs of our members and continues by working to strengthen the community we serve. Coloramo hosted two events in Quarter 2 to deliver on our commitment to the community. I am proud to work alongside team members that are committed to giving back to the community. The team members that worked on both events did a fantastic job representing the Coloramo brand and supporting our community.

On June 14th, we hosted the 3rd annual Western Colorado Hero Classic Golf Tournament. The event was a great success! The tournament saw support from over 20 local area sponsors and 133 golf participants. Together we raised over $15,000 in net proceeds that will go to Care Flight of the Rockies and Mesa County Search and Rescue. Coloramo appreciates the work these two inspiring organizations provide for our community. Both deliver life-saving services and do not charge the individual for the cost of their rescue or transport! Our sincere appreciation goes out to the heroes at these organizations.

On June 15th, Coloramo organized our first Education Forum focused on finding the resources to pay for college. We will host additional Education Forums, at least once a year, to provide free information on the cost of attending college and the resources available to help students be financially prepared. This event is a free opportunity to come together as a community with financial experts from across the nation to discuss important topics such as admissions, financial aid, loan consolidation, the cost of money, and more. These forums are open to all current or future students, whether in high school, college, or trade school, as well as parents, grandparents, or anyone who is interested in learning how to pay for school and come out with as little debt as possible!

Coloramo understands the value of delivering banking services you can count on, provided by people you trust. We are committed to the community and to delivering on our mission of building lifelong relationships with our members. I extend my genuine appreciation to our membership. It is your participation in the Credit Union that has made us the best Credit Union in Western Colorado. As a not-for-profit financial institution, we grow stronger with each new member. If you have a friend or family member that will benefit from our services be sure to send them in to open their account.”

Thank you for being a Coloramo FCU member!
